How to combine PDF files
Add your PDFs
Drag your PDFs anywhere onto this page, or press Choose PDFs to pick them from your computer. On a phone, tap Pick PDFs and choose them from your files. Add as many as you need; each one shows its name, page count and size.
Put them in order
The combined file follows the list from top to bottom. Drag a file by its handle, use the up and down arrows, or press Sort A to Z to order them by name. Reverse flips the whole list, and the cross removes a file you added by mistake.
Combine them
Press Combine. Every page of every PDF is merged into one new file, exactly as it was. Protected or damaged files are flagged in red and left out, so you can fix them and add them again.
Download the combined PDF
Press Download PDF to save it as combined.pdf. The button shows the total pages and file size, and your original PDFs stay exactly as they were.
What's kept when you combine PDFs
Combining, or merging, copies each page into one new file, so everything you see comes along: we compared every combined page with its original, pixel for pixel, and they matched. A few extras that belong to the whole file, not to a page, don't. We tested every row below with our own files.
| In your PDFs | Kept? | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| Every page, in your order | Kept | Each page is copied as it is, in the order of your list. |
| Fonts and layout | Kept | Pages look exactly the same. In our test every combined page matched its original, pixel for pixel. |
| Text you can select and search | Kept | Text stays text, so you can still copy it and search it. |
| Pictures | Kept | Photos and scans are copied as they are, not saved again, so there's no loss in quality. |
| Page sizes and rotation | Kept | Letter, A4 and wide pages keep their own size, and pages you turned stay turned. |
| Web links | Kept | Links to websites still open when you tap them. |
| Highlights and comments | Kept | Notes and highlights added in a PDF app come along. |
| Bookmarks | Not kept | The list of chapters in the sidebar is not carried over. |
| Links to other pages in the file | Not kept | A link like "go to page 3" stops working. |
| Fillable form fields | Not kept | Answers already typed in still show, but the form itself isn't carried over. Fill forms in first, then combine. |
| Accessibility tags | Not kept | Tags that help screen readers read a page in the right order aren't carried over. Keep the original if it has to stay accessible. |
| Title and author details | Not kept | The original files' hidden title and author are not copied. |
Signed PDFs are a special case. A digital signature only covers the exact file that was signed, so it won't count as valid in a combined file. Keep signed originals separately.
Have photos instead of PDFs? Turn them into one PDF with JPG to PDF first, then combine it with your other PDFs here. Only need some of the pages? Pull them out with the PDF Splitter.

Frequently asked questions
Still stuck? Contact usHow do I combine PDF files into one
Add your PDFs, put them in the order you want and press Combine. Then press Download PDF to save one merged file with every page from every PDF, top to bottom.
Can I change the order of the PDFs
Yes. Drag a file by its handle, use the up and down arrows, or press Sort A to Z to put them in name order. Reverse flips the whole list.
Does combining PDFs lower the quality
No. Pages are copied as they are. Text stays sharp and pictures are not saved again, so the combined file looks exactly like the originals.
Will the combined PDF be bigger
It's about the size of all your PDFs added together, because nothing is shrunk or saved again. In our test, four PDFs of 331 KB together came out as one 323 KB file.
Can I combine protected PDFs
No. Some PDFs need a password to open, and some open normally but are locked against changes, like many bank statements. Both kinds are flagged and left out. Open the file with its password and save a copy without one, or ask whoever sent it for an unlocked copy, then add that.
Are bookmarks, links and form fields kept
Web links, highlights and comments are kept. Bookmarks, links to other pages inside a file and fillable form fields are not, though answers already typed in still show. Fill in forms before you combine them.
What happens to pages of different sizes
Each page keeps its own size and direction, so a Letter page, an A4 page and a wide page can sit in the same file.
How many PDFs can I combine
As many as you like, up to 500 MB in total on a computer and 200 MB on a phone or tablet. Every file is held in your device's memory while it's combined.
Is it free, with no watermark or sign up
Yes. Combining PDFs here is free. The combined PDF has no watermark, and there's no account, no daily limit and nothing to install.
Can I combine PDFs on a Mac, Windows PC or Chromebook
Yes. This page works in any up to date browser, with nothing to install.
Can I combine PDFs on my iPhone
Yes. Open this page in Safari, tap Pick PDFs and choose your files from the Files app. Put them in order, tap Combine, then tap Download PDF to save the combined file.
Can I combine PDFs without uploading them
Yes. Your files never leave your device. Combining happens right in your browser, so nothing is uploaded, sent to us or stored anywhere.
Does it change my original PDFs
No. You download a new file called combined.pdf. The PDFs on your computer or phone stay exactly as they were.
